The result was delicious and disgusting, like a sin against baking, but it tasted pretty alright and I downed it with some help. I was giving 'baking tips' to Stephen as we went, telling him helpful hints like mixing the dry ingredients first and then the wet. I made sure to point out that if we were you (Catherine) we would have sifted the flour because we would have cared. I am always impressed/astonished at how you will take every step to ensure the food you prepare is the best it can be. Taking the time to immediately plunge your greens in cold water to help them retain their bright green is one such example.
